The Pulai Desaru Beach Resort is located in Bandar Penawar in the district of Kota Tinggi in the state of Johor. No matter if you are driving from the northern states such as Penang or even the southern areas such as Johor Bahru, you will have to get off from the highway at the Kulai exit. From Kulai you will pass Kota Tinggi before you reach Desaru and this specific route will take you about 2 hours. As you pass through these satellite towns you will also have the opportunity to see fruit plantations, nurseries, settlements, roadside stalls and other interesting venues, so make sure that you take the time to stop at these places. In the future a new route will be completed that will make your journey much faster as the new access road from Pasir Gudang will take you across the Johor River. Alternatively you can also take the ferry from Changi Ferry Terminal to Tanjung Belungkor Ferry Terminal which will take you about 25 minutes and from there it will take you another 20 minutes to get to the resort.
Pulai Desaru Beach Resort has a number of the 5 storey blocks and there are about 210 rooms that will be enough to accommodate the influx of tourists during the peak season. Depending on the room you have chosen or otherwise chosen for you, all the rooms have a balcony that faces either the beach or the foliage in the outdoors. The resort also has an average sized swimming pool that includes a kid’s section for them to play in. The Desaru beach is located not far from the resort so it is very convenient for the guests and there are also beach huts located on the beach which you can choose if you want to bask in the sun while admiring the splendid view of the South China Sea. The beach is secluded which makes it ideal for the guests that require some privacy so that they can relax and unwind.
There are quite a number of food and beverage outlets located at the resort and they include the Sea Breeze Café, the Dragon Castle Restaurant that serves fine Chinese dining and Fuji Restaurant, as the name suggests offers a wide variety of Japanese foods. The resort is also equipped with the facilities to hold functions in there banquet and meeting rooms that can accommodate up to 300 people.
For golf enthusiasts they will find that the resort does not disappoint, located on 5 minutes away is the Desaru Golf and Country Club where the guests can tee-off or guests can opt for the Sebana Golf and Country that is situated a 30 minute drive away. For those that are into more adventurous type of activities the resort also includes a variety of water sports for the guests to enjoy such as diving, jet skiing and so on. However if you prefer to spend your time on land, the resort also have lots of activities that you can occupy yourself with such as table tennis, beach volleyball, tennis and lots more. As for the nature lovers they can enjoy the splendid view of the Desaru fruit farms, indulge in the relaxing nature walks and in the evening walk amongst the beautiful fireflies.
In Peninsular Malaysia the monsoon season starts from November all the way through the middle of March. During the periods that as mentioned before the sea becomes very rough and there are more rainy days as well. Due to such conditions of the sea, the resort does not operate any sea activities for the safety of the guests. However the other facilities in the resort will remain operational throughout the entire year.
