Johor Bahru is not renowned for its historical and traditional attractions, therefore as tourists, you might find that some of these attractions are hard to come by. Having said this, there are however a few places you can go to appreciate the culture of Johor. The Sultan Abu Bakar Royal Palace Museum is located in Kalan Skudai where it is the former residence of the Johor Sultan and is now a public museum. You can also visit the Sultan Abu Bakar State Mosque which is an elegant mosque built in a fusion of Victorian and Moorish architecture while the Sultan Ibrahim Building is a Renaissance styled building. For those who prefer the more natural sort of landmarks, you can go to the Johor Zoo nearby the Sultan Abu Bakar Mosque or to Orchid Valley. Otherwise, you can go over to Danga Bay and Stulang Laut which offer some water activities. There are also some diving activities available in around Pulau Sibu.
